Programs Postponed this weekend

Hello KSC/KMS Coaches, Parents and Athletes!

Just an update from up here at Killington: The mountain did a phenomenal job resurfacing: The guns were on ALL day! With the forecasted temps and potential snowfall early next week, they will hopefully be able to return their focus to expanding terrain real soon.

Some of you did not receive the email that was sent last night, so I have provided a summary below.

Notice:
All Three-Day programs (Alpine, Freestyle, Freeskiing and Elite Snowboarding) are canceled this Friday to Sunday.
All Two-Day programs (Alpine, Freestyle, Freeskiing, Mountain Division, Elite and VT Snowboarding) are canceled on Saturday and Sunday.
Summary - THERE IS NO TRAINING FOR ANY KSC/KMS Program this weekend.

Clarification:
The following program will run through March 31:
FutureStars
The following program will run through April 1:
Alpine Stars, Freestyle Stars, and Snowboard Stars
The following programs will run through April 8:
J1/2 Team, J3 Team, Ross Team, and Jones Team
Freestyle A and B Team
Freeskiing A and B Team
Elite and VT Snowboarding Team
The End of the Season Awards will be held on March 31.

Upcoming Training Schedules:
All programs will start next weekend ~ Alpine - J1/2, J3, J4, J5, Freestyle A and B, Freeskiing A and B, Elite Snowboard, VT Snowboard, Mountain Division, Alpine Stars, Snowboard Stars, Freestyle Stars, and FutureStars.
The Stars Programs - Alpine Stars, Freestyle Stars and Snowboard Stars do not start training on Sunday's until Jan 8th.
It will be cold, the mountain will make snow and it is going to snow this week. ;)

Important Notes and Training schedule for February 11-14th

Hello All,

Hope you are all doing well and you are having a good week !

Here are just some club J3 updates:
- Alex and Bredan are participating in the southern council SG race this Friday, congrats to
both you !
- State SG is taking place on Monday February 14th
- 2 more races before state team tech team will be announced. Keep up the good work
guys !
- Parent Meeting February 19th at 2:30 pm. We will discuss Spring racing calendar for first
year and second year J3.
- NOTES:
o when we have the training block ending at 1pm, our lunch break is from 1pm-2pm
instead of 12pm-1pm).
This training block is great because it enables us to work on our skiing before heading
in the gates.
o Free skiing session are very important, we don’t just free ski. This is one of the only
times available to us to work on the athlete skiing.
Our time is so limited during the weekend, every minute we have to work on skills,
is very important.

Here is the schedule for this weekend:

Friday February 11th :
8:45am Meet at club, get equipment ready to go
9:00am Training GS/SG on Bunny (have 2 pairs of skis if you have them)
11:00am Head towards KMS for lunch – have bags packed and ready to go
11:45am Departure for Pico
12:00pm SG freeskiing session at Pico
2:30pm Return to KMS

Saturday February 12th:
7:45am Meet at club, get equipment ready to go
8:00am Training GS/SG on Highline (have 2 pairs of skis if you have them)
We will take a couple runs on both pairs
10:45am Break
11:00am Freeski
12:00pm Lunch
1:00pm Freeski
2:30pm End of day

Sunday February 13th:
Okemo GS : Be there for first lift at 8am (details of race are not yet posted, once available, will email them to you)

State SG team announcement

Training Weekend Feb 4th - 6th

Hello Everyone !
Hope you are enjoying the new snow…. If you are getting it in your neck of the woods…

Great job again this weekend ! It wasn’t easy for everyone but you all manage to shine.
Keep up the good work!

There are still a couple races to go before the final selection for finals are announced.

This week, since we had Super G on Monday and most likely you will have a snow day at your school, there won’t be training on Friday in the AM.
The 3 kids registered in the 3 day program were not planning on coming on Friday anyways.
If you want to train, the afternoon session with the KMS group is available. Please make sure to contact me if you are going to join us.

AM GS & SG ski ready to ski on.
Skill Adaptation - skis chosen will depend on snow conditions.
PM GS & SG course over at Pico.
* We will leave the mountain around 11 for lunch and van will head over to Pico at 11:45 – have bags ready to go in the am.

Saturday January 29th :
AM GS & SG ski ready to ski on.
Skill Adaptation - skis chosen will depend on snow conditions.
10-1 SG/GS course Highline
1pm Video review
1:15pm Rest and work on your skis

Training Schedule January 21-23

Hello All,
Hope you are having a great week!
I wanted to congratulate both Sarah & Brendon for qualifying for ERS !!!
Have a great time this weekend ! Will be thinking of you!

As for training schedule this weekend, it will go has follows:
Friday January 21st : GS
AM Tactics and Terrain Adaptation PM Gate training (possibly at Pico or Highline)

Saturday January 22nd: SG
AM Introduction to Super G
11:30-2:30 SG training on Bunny

Sunday January 23rd: SG
AM Tactics and Terrain Adaptation
10 – 12:30 SG training on Bunny

NOTES:
1) Please have both GS ski and SG skis if you have them. If you don’t have SG skis, please have the skis you are planning to use for the Okemo SG.
2) Have your speed suits on also – we will do a couple runs for you to feel the speed.
3) Since there will be a lot of people this weekend, you can use your SG only with Will or I around, NO FREESKING on them ! It’s for your safety and the safety of others.
4) We will be done early on Sunday so you can check out the Dew Tour finals.

Training January 7th - 9th 2011

Hello Everyone !

First of all, I wanted to congratulate all of our J3’s for this weekend race.
The hard work you all put in really pay off !
It’s a good feeling to start the season with the Banner and let’s work hard to keep it every race,
I know we can do it :)

So for this weekend, the race is a Slalom at Pico on Sunday.
To prepare for this, here is our training schedule

Friday:
AM Tactics in a slalom course on Bunny Buster – Meet at Club at 9am
PM We are trying to get a training session at Pico – this will be confirmed
tomorrow.
If it’s not possible, we will be skiing at Killington
Saturday:
AM Fundamental skill development in Slalom until 11am. Meet at Club at 8am
LUNCH 11am – 12pm
PM Slalom course on Highline – this hill is the closest to the race hill at Pico
